Thelma Ryan Gaughan, at age 96, (97 on June 20) served as a Marine also beginning her service in 1943 on Parris Island. Still vibrant and full of Semper Fi spirit, she remains the Hurley Post Commander, Ret. and first woman member of Cooper Marine Post. Thelma is doing well here in Rochester NY, maintains her NYS drivers license, lives independently in the house built for her and her beloved husband Walter (deceased).
