During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of mustaches on thousands of men’s faces, in the US and around the world to help awareness for men’s health,
specifically prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men.
Here at 13WHAM-TV, four guys from the sales department are holding a contest between themselves to see who can grow the best mustache.
So far it hasn’t been very pretty. The growth has been slow and the comments haven’t been very nice.
Steve Synesael said, “I get friends looking at me and saying… What is wrong with your face?” My wife Aimee has told me that December 1st it is coming off.
Andy Rauh has the least amount of growth. Andy: “I got a late start, but I think I can still compete.”
Dominic Tricase has been known to grow facial hair on occasion and he thinks he can pull out a win. Dom: “I like the idea of raising awareness and beating my friends along the way.”
Jeff Knauss is the fourth co-worker to grow a November mustache and he just wants to compete. Jeff: “Winning would be great, but a solid 2nd place would still allow me to brag a little bit.”
One local company is doing Movembeard where the employees are growing beards. It all helps raise awareness and they all are having fun.
