It only took me a few minutes to locate the series of reports we had done. I mentioned it was a series I never forgot. It was wonderfully crafted by producer Jon Murray, who is now a very successful Hollywood producer. (No surprise!) It was easy to locate- as I kept a copy- at home- with all our family videos.
I have made a copy for Emlyn to share with family. I have also posted the series- online- for her to view- and for
you to share as well.
I had a wonderful conversation with Emlyn this week, and I look forward to meeting her- again- when she visits Rochester this summer. I was able to “fill in the blanks” from the past 32 years and learn how she took the tragedy of her parents’ deaths and turned it into triumph. She graduated Cum Laude from Mount Holyoke College. She graduated with a Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania and received a Master of Design Studies with Distinction from Harvard University. She is currently Director of Lighting at a top design firm. You can find out more about her on her blog – where she, too, has shared this story.
I am truly grateful for the opportunity to reconnect a young woman with an important part of her childhood. I hope she can find some comfort through the reporting we did thirty-two years ago.
Most of all, I thank Emlyn for allowing me to learn what happened to her—after all these years!
