I probably shouldn't confess to this, but the passing of Andy Griffith brought back memories of one of my first "comedic" performances.  I was fascinated with Andy Griffith's recording of  What It Was Was Football!  I listened to it until I had memorized it. (It can still recite a good portion of it from memory).

Then- what to do with it.  I decided to "take it on the road", and along with a friend-  went to various nursing homes in the community to "perform!"

For me, a lesson in performance, as well as one of my first lessons in community service.  The "ham" in me enjoyed making folks laugh.  The "heart" in me enjoyed the fact i was doing something that brightened someone else's day.

I'll never know for sure who was laughing with me and who was laughing at me, but it makes no difference.  I enjoyed it then- and I enjoy the memory now.

I think YOU would enjoy it, too. Not MY version, of course, but Andy Griffith's original. Check it out! Just click on the link!

What it was, was Football
