You never know what to expect when meeting someone who has achieved fame.

I know it can sometimes be disappointing to learn the person isn't as nice as they appear on television or in the movies.

That happened to me when I covered the late actor, Tony Randall years ago.
He wasn't very nice and told reporters he wouldn't answer questions about The Odd Couple days. Really? What else is there to talk about?

This time was different. Jenn Suhr walked though the sliding glass doors in the airport terminal with a smile on her face and never stopped smiling.

She patiently posed as fans and the media snapped her picture and asked her countless questions. She never acted like she was better than anyone or
seemed bothered by all the attention.

She remembered where she came from and the people who cheered her on.
She was humble, happy and sincere.

As cliche as it sounds, Suhr has a heart of gold, to match the gold medal clutched in her hands.

How refreshing it is to meet someone so sincere and classy as Jenn Suhr.
She wasn't born in Rochester but says our city has a special place in her heart and is "home" now.

A similar ceremony awaits her in Fredonia, where she was born and raised. And I am sure she will be as kind to people there as she was here.

Jenn Suhr brought home her Gold Medal in style.
