Schumer is not God - how dare that "eyeglass wearing idiot" try to play God! God instituted marriage, not Schumer, not the judges, or the goofy college professors. If God allowed the Devil and his demons to crush Sodom because they practiced so much homosexuality, how much more will Schumer and anyone else be crushed who promotes it.

I sure would like a senator/congressman to vote on a topic that they believe is good for the country, not for the party.

Perhaps some are coming to the realization in the older folks bracket that this is not a religious issue. It is a civil rights issue. You cannot deny people civil rights under the guise of religious beliefs.

About time! Equal opportunities and responsibilities is the way of the future. Hope it can come to a vote soon.

Rotten - That's probably right, though it might not account for the entire shift. But there's no doubt the trend is built upon younger voters who support same sex marriage.

God Chuck! I am so glad that he has decided to lead the way. Why shouldn't people have the option to marry. From a completely monetary standpoint, married people pay more taxes. More married people there are, more taxes for the state.

What happened in the last 4 years of the Bush presidency is 4 years of old people died off and 4 years of new, young voters entered the electorate. The younger you are, the less likely you are to fear/hate gays.

Good for you, Chuck. It's about time.
