The race for Governor is about to get a bit more interesting.  Eliot Spitzer’s name is re-surfacing again-not as a potential candidate – but for his relationship with someone who says she’s serious about running.

That someone is Kristin Davis, better known as the Manhattan Madam.  According to her tell-all book Spitzer was a client of her escort service and “good for a call a week.”

Now, according to her blog she’s hearing her own call for political office.  In the “first political speech of my life” Davis told the Libertarian party she would run for governor with a platform including legalization, regulation, and taxation of prostitution and marijuana.

“When was the last time a candidate put forth this kind of honest, radical platform?” she blogs.  “When is the last time a politician offered the voters something different than higher taxes, more spending?”

She reminds potential voters she has a business background, has fun a hedge fund for 10 years and “built a multi-million dollar business from scratch.”  “I am certainly more qualified than the losers and hacks we have in Albany right now.”

She’s apparently gotten the ear of a prominent Republican political operative.  Roger Stone tells TPM that Davis is “serious” and hopes to shake up the race, even if that means starting her own political party.  (to be called the “Personal Freedom” party)

Paterson, Lazio, Paladino, and perhaps Cuomo.  Add Kristin Davis.  Yes, the race for governor is about to get more interesting.
