It's not easy raising almost $20,000 for charity, but somehow, the Midvale Country Club Ladies Association manages to do this every single year.
They host a delicious dinner, fabulous fashion show and people open up their wallets to give.
This year more than $9,000 went to Melissa's Living Legacy. That's a charity set up to help improve the lives of teens living with cancer. It is named for a beautiful young girl named Melissa Marie Sengbusch.
In 1998, Melissa was a high school senior preparing for an exciting year. She was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome, a rare bone marrow malignancy.
Melissa fought hard against this rare cancer but lost her battle in June of 2000.
Her mother, Lauren Spiker set up this charity in honor of her daughter's bravery and determination.
Thanks to this donation from Midvale Ladies Association, this charity will be able to help other teens living with cancer.
Bethany House also got a $9,000 donation.
