Brockport, N.Y. - The College at Brockport is holding a rally and march tonight to raise awareness about domestic violence.
It’s part of an initiative called "Take Back the Night," and starts at 7 p.m.
It holds special significance because of the recent death of freshman Alex Kogut.
Kogut's boyfriend Clayton Whittemore has been charged with her death. He reportedly told police he beat her to death with his fists and a curling iron.
Other victims of domestic violence in New York State are getting help from a new notification system designed to tell them when family court orders of protection are served.
