Greece, N.Y. - Bryant & Stratton College plans to offer its first baccalaureate degree in Health Services Administration.
The Bachelor of Science degree will be offered in January 2013 at the college's new campus in Greece.
The college says it chose this field for its first baccalaureate degree because of high demand for medical and health service providers.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the field is expected to grow 16 percent by 2018.
Bryant and Stratton College also announced a new Health Services in Action initiative, which will give scholarships and additional health benefits to students.
An expanded partnership with the Hillside Work-Scholarship Connection will boost a health scholarship to a $65,400 value. That's up from a $2,500 scholarship currently.
The college is also joining forces with neighboring Northwest YMCA to give students and staff access to the gym there.
As part of the initiative, Bryant and Stratton will expand its Middle College program with the Rochester City School District to allow high school students to earn college credits while still in high school.
