Dr. Richard Dudrak, medical director, AfterHours Lifetime Health, warns viewers of the potential for rabies when you wake up with a bat in your bedroom.

Dr. Dudrak instructs viewers these precautionary steps:
If everyone in the house is awake and no one suspects being bitten, let the bat outside.
If you awaken to bat in your house you should try to contain it and call the Health Department. They will test the bat for rabies so you know whether or not you need a rabies vaccination.
