Rochester, N.Y. - Steve Martin took the stage at Kodak Hall Wednesday and answered the applause with a joke.
"When I was driving here I saw a billboard with my picture on it and over my face it read, 'Sold Out,'" he said. "How rude!"
He then jumped right into his bluegrass performance.
Martin picked away at the banjo as the Steep Canyon Rangers backed him up.
People leaving the afternoon show had glowing reviews.
One called it, "The best thing to come to Rochester."
Another said, "I would have paid more!"
The show lasted roughly 1 1/2 hours.
Martin will play another sold-out show at 8 p.m.
