A woman's purse is a fashion statement, a way to carry things, and to the Women's Foundation of Genesee Valley-- a way to give women and girls a helping hand. It's hosting an auction called "A Purse For Change" to help raise money for programs that encourage economic self-sufficiency. We'll meet two Women's Foundation committee members and see some of the purses up for auction.
Plus, local families who have adopted children from China are hosting a fashion show to help benefit Chinese orphans. It's called "Year Of The Dragon Fashion Show" and the money raised by it will benefit an organization that helps to educate orphans. We'll meet the event's co-chairs and hear their stories of adoption.
