They’re far away, but children in Puerto Plata, in the Dominican Republic are a priority for a small, not-for-profit based in Lima, New York. It's called “Dominican Hope” and they’re working to build a pre-school for some of that city’s poorest children. They’re made some major progress and they’re here to share the good news.

Plus, it's around the time that high school seniors will begin to get letters in the mail indicating whether they did or didn’t get into the schools of their choice. The road to that day is sometimes a complicated one—but it doesn’t have to be. Monroe Community College along with the Ibero-American Action League are teaming up to help demystify the college application process at an event coming up in April.
