October is Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender History month across the United States.  In Rochester, the Gay Alliance of the Genesee Valley is marking the month with a number of events and efforts aimed at making our community a safer and more enlightened place for LGBT residents. Learn about the GAGV's Anti Violence Project and other initiatives.

We also take a look at the collective health of people of Color in our region with the Finger Lakes Health Systems Agency.  The organization has been vocal about proposals to overhaul healthcare in the U-S and now its issued a report on the health of Latinos and African Americans.  We'll find out what health care problems each group faces.

"Many Voices, Many Visions" is a multicultural public affairs program airing on 13WHAM-TV Sunday mornings at 11:00 a.m. The show explores our community's diversity in terms of race, ethnicity, creed, age, gender, gender orientation and ability. Teachers are invited to tape the programs for educational use. Each week the original "Many Voices, Many Visions" theme song is performed by different Rochester community members.
