Mercy Flight Central, in 2012, marked 20 years of service transporting patients in emergencies. Since 1992, Mercy Flight Central has cared for more than 12,000 people. The service operates without state or federal funding. One quarter of it's annual operating budget comes from donations to help offset the more than $2 million in transports not covered by insurance, Medicaid or Medicare.
