A packed show this week!
In some sectors, the world of medicine is still considered an “old boy’s club” but not in Rochester. For the first time, the latest incoming class of surgery residents at the University of Rochester is made up entirely of women.
Teen cancer survivors are sharing their stories of living through a unique event. This is the 10th year that T-L-C or Teens Living With Cancer has put on a show for the annual Celebration of Living. This year the teens are partnering with a local photographer to bring their experiences to life.
With upcoming elections on the local level just around the corner, now is the time for voters to familiarize themselves with the names and platforms of those seeking office. A local sorority is trying to help by hosting a candidates forum. Members of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority tell us all about it. This is the second year the sorority has sponsored a candidate’s forum—it’s part of the group’s community outreach.
Finally, we say goodbye to Virginia Sawdey, a local anti-crime activist who was well-known and respected in her Northwest Rochester neighborhood. She died recently at the age of 88.
