This week on Many Voices, Many Visions, Wilson Commencement Park celebrates 20 years helping single parent families break the cycle of poverty. The agency has helped hundreds of families achieve self-sufficiency. To help celebrate its success, singer-songwriter Will Downing will headline the agency's annual 8th Jazz For The Park benefit concert. CEO, Rodric Cox-Cooper joins us in studio to tell us all about it.
Plus, we meet a teen from Mendon with a lofty goal. He wants to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro next year. But he's not just thinking of himself, he wants to raise money for the 'porters' who will help him along the way. Porters help carry a climber's gear but they're often poorly paid and poorly dressed for the climb. Our guest, Taylor Morrell, is helping raise money for the porters through a campaign involving EMS (Eastern Mountain Sports). As you'll see, he's got big goals and a big heart, too!
