(13WHAM-TV) - If you're a big Facebook user, chances are you've been urged to copy-paste a "copyright" message on your wall to protect your photos and videos.

It turns out the whole thing is a big hoax.

Facebook says it doesn't own your photos or videos, but under the company's user agreement, it does have the right to use, share, and distribute them.

Legal experts say the copyright message many people have posted to their walls is completely useless.
