Airfares have hit new highs this year.
The average domestic fare is now $414. That’s about 9 percent more than last year.
The most expensive days to fly are December 21 and 22, and New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Those are up about $500 a ticket, on average.
Now the cheapest days to fly are Christmas Day and the three days after Christmas.
