Washington, D.C. - Thousands of portable generators are being recalled because of possible fuel leak problems.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety has gotten nearly a dozen reports of fuel leaks from two models of Champion Power Equipment portable generators, including eight reports of fires associated with the leaks and two reports of property damage.
The recalled units were sold exclusively at Costco stores between December 2011 and July 2012.
Two model numbers are affected: 41332 and 41532. The models have a black frame and yellow control panels.
