(Rochester, N.Y.)-The hit-and-run trial continued Monday for suspended Greece Police Officer Nick Joseph, accused of causing a pregnant woman to deliver her baby prematurely.

The latest information released last week on the case was that Joseph was served seven shots of alcohol in under an hour.

However, the bartender testified that Joseph did not appear to be intoxicated.

On Monday, a tow truck operator testified that he towed Joseph’s car after the crash.

Assistant District Attorney Sandra Doorley says Joseph was given access to the vehicle afterward.

Blood samples and forensic tests are expected to be discussed soon in court.

Joseph is charged with driving under the influence, and leaving the scene of the accident.

There were no tire tracks showing he attempted to stop! Has he answered as to why he never stopped or swerved to miss the car? There was more than one lane where the accident occurred. Sitting up high in an SUV prevented him from seeing her small car?

This is a very interesting case. I feel that Mr. Joseph was given some liberties in this case that wouldn't have been given to a normal citizen. He should take a plea and stop damaging the rest of the reputation of his department. We all make dumb decisions in our lives, but we must also stand up and do the right thing. No court system is perfect, and I feel that ours does a pretty good job. I'm sure some things will remain in the gray area for years to come. But there is a truth, and the look in his face alone tells it all.

I wonder how many of us would be given access to our vehicles with an investigation pending?
