(Rochester, N.Y.) - More information is coming to light about Friday’s suspension of a Greece Police sergeant.
Robert Trowbridge is accused of falsifying information on a background check of officer Gary Pignato.
Pignato, who was recently convicted of coercing a woman into sex, accepting sex as a bribe and official misconduct, was previously with the Rochester Police Department.
The background check contains high recommendations from his commanders, although they were never actually interviewed.
Trowbridge is the fourth member of the Greece Police Department to be suspended.
He may face criminal charges later this week.
