Rochester, N.Y. -- The next stop for Kodak's 1,100 patents could be auction.
On Monday, the company filed papers seeking permission to start the auction of its patents on digital imaging. Kodak wants to start the bidding in early August.
In the filing, the company said, "The Debtors have not received an offer from such a bidder on acceptable terms. A number of parties, however, have expressed interest in continuing to participate in a sale process for the Digital Imaging Patent Assets."
The company has said the sale of patents could make millions of dollars. Kodak is dealing with bankruptcy proceedings.
