(Rochester, N.Y.) – The Rochester Broadway Theatre League has further narrowed the list of possible sites where a performing arts center could be built.
The sites in contention are:
• LakeRidge Centre in Irondequoit (formerly known as Medley Centre)
• Clinton Crossings in Brighton
• Midtown Plaza in Rochester
RBTL said it is not presently considering the other three sites, Finger Lakes Gaming and Racetrack, Webster, and Canal Ponds Business Park, but may in the future.
The city did not release any details of its plan during a brief presentation by the mayor before RBTL’s site selection committee. Since then, the city has been working with Christa Development to design a theater.
The mayor told 13WHAM last week that Christa has not formerly signed on as a developer, but was working on “renderings” and “suggestions” for a new theater.
RBTL would like the city to present those site plans publicly this month, as the other developers did.
The RBTL has not released any of the developers’ funding plans. Those discussions have been held in private.
