Rochester, N.Y. – The demolition of Midtown Plaza is nearing the halfway point.

Marty Piecuch, the construction manager, said the B. Forman, Wendy’s, bus station and Wegmans have been demolished. Two of the three skyways have also come down. He said demolition is 40 percent finished.

Next week, demolition work will begin on the Citizens Bank building.

In April, work will begin on the McCurdy’s building.

The state is spending $55 million to tear down the former shopping mall and office complex to make way for future development. PAETEC has committed to building its headquarters at the site.
