"Used to be a auto parts store there, junk store there and a soda fountain, said Naples Mayor Don Braun. "It was a one stop shop."
Until this week, when they found out the store was closing its doors. "These people have been serving us for years, they're the only pharmacy here," said resident Michaela Williams. "It's a cornerstone of the town and I'm shocked."
Williams moved to Naples from Reno, Nevada; this store made Naples feel like home.
"When you go in there, you find people buying their lottery ticket and the senior citizens talk and hang out, everyone knows each other," said Williams.
"I was totally shocked because we have so many retired people here and many who don't drive and we have hospice a short distance away," said resident Shirley Stover.
Naples Pharmacy is the only pharmacy in town, since 1954, it's also the only one nearby.
"I'm not exactly sure, probably Canandaigua...21 miles seems like 40 when you have to go there," Stover said.
"It's not as convenient, to have your local town not have the basics anymore, " Williams said.
While the news is disappointing to many, Mayor Don Braun says that will pass.
"We've survived for 100 years I'm sure we'll keep on going," said Braun.
The pharmacy also houses a video rental store, no word on when or where they'll relocate.
13WHAM did speak to the co-owner of the pharmacy, Larry Jepsen, we were not allowed to get video inside the store or speak to employees on camera.
Jepsen could not give us much information over the phone because of a binding contract, but sources tell us CVS will come in to remove all pharmaceuticals next week.
No word on where they will be taken or what business will take over the store's current location.
