Here's the recipe for a delicious, decadent pie crust that will convince you never to buy boxed pie crust again!

Flour City Diner pie crust

Combine the following in the food processor:
2 and 1/2 cups flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt

Pulse together. Then add:

1 stick of frozen, chopped lard
1 and 1/2 sticks of frozen, chopped butter

Pulse 15-20 times until the mixture comes together like pea gravel. Then add:

1/2 cup ice water

Pulse 6-7 times.

Pour out the mixture on to the table. Knead for 1 minute.
Cut the mixture in half, and shape into 2 round disks.
Wrap the disks in plastic and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, up to 2 days, or freeze.

After refrigeration:

On a floured surface, roll out that disks. Use a rolling pin, carefully rolling each side once or twice, then turn over and roll the same way. You'll need to do this several times until dough is desired thickness for crust. Lay it out into the pie pan, fluting the edges.

Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.

Enjoy!
