Sabres Assign 11 Players to Amerks

Buffalo Sabres General Manager Darcy Regier announced today the team has assigned the following 11 players to the Rochester Americans:  Forwards Riley Boychuk, Jacob Lagace, Maxime Legault, Shawn Szydlowski, Travis Turnbull and Mark Voakes; Defensemen Alex Biega, Nick Crawford, Corey Fienhage and Matt MacKenzie; Goaltender Jeff Jakaitis.

This leaves the Sabres with 39 players still in training camp (24 forwards, 13 defensemen and four goaltenders).

The Amerks open their 2011 Training Camp on Monday, Sept. 26 at The Blue Cross Arena. Practice is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. and will be open to the public. Players and coaches will be available to the media following the practice session. A full roster and training camp schedule will be available at a later date.

The 2011-12 season marks the continuation of the affiliation between the Amerks and Buffalo Sabres. The Sabres’ training camp opened on Friday, Sept. 16 at First Niagara Center in Buffalo and continues this week.
