Geneva is the top seeded team in section V's class B playoffs, but when they host eighth seeded HF-L tonight, many may see them as the underdog.

"We're playing a team that has played the Victors, and the Eastridges, and the Brockports," said Geneva head coach Mike Pane. "They've played a great schedule, and we're the little Finger Lakes team.""

"Everyone just kind of second-guesses us, and we're playing a team that plays bigger competition," added senior wide receiver Sean Cunningham. "So we have to go out there and show a class B team that plays in the Finger Lakes can compete."

But Geneva has a weapon HF-L ahsn't seen. In fact, few teams in section V history have.

"Our offense is our best unit," said Pane. "We've scored tons of points this year, set the record for section five."

"We love throwing the ball, we have a quarterback who has a cannon and then we can balance it with a running game, so we have a pretty good offense."

Geneva's passing attack hasn't just been good, it's been historic. With his four touchdown passes against Wayne last week, quarterback Shane Sweeney became section five's all-time leading touchdown passer with 74.

"We came to the game, we knew it was on our minds," said Sweeney. "But winning is obviously more important."

Especially when your season depends on it.
