Rochester, N.Y. – It’s a big day for sports as Pittsford's Abby Wambach and Team USA go for gold.

Thursday, August 9 sees a match-up of last year's World Cup final, pitting Japan against the U.S.

13WHAM News will be watching with Wambach's family at their restaurant.

The game starts at 2:45 this afternoon.

Wednesday night in London saw an unprecedented win for U.S. Women's Beach Volleyball.

Misty May and Kerri Walsh won their third straight gold medal after their match.

The pair beat another American team, meaning the U.S. takes both gold and silver in that event.

Today, Usain Bolt will go for the gold in the men's 200 meter dash. He's already won the 100 meters.
