Pittsford's Abby Wambach is coming home to play pro soccer. Abby has been assigned to the WNY Flash for the upcoming NWSL season. The new NWSL womens' pro league set up a system of dispersing players to the 8 different franchises around the country. Each of the players was given the option of selecting their top preferences for placement.
Wambach, the former Mercy High School and current US National team star, has been a huge draw for fans in games she has played in Rochester. This will be the fist time she has played for her hometown team since turning pro.
