There is one thing you can expect when the Rochester Americans and the Toronto Marlies meet on Saturday afternoon in Toronto for game two of their playoff series. The game is likely to be decided by a single goal. The evidence leading up to that conclusion is pretty strong. The teams met ten times in the regular season and every single game was decided by the closest of margins. Then on Thursday night in Toronto, the Marlies took advantage of a bouncing puck to get the game winning goal and beat Rochester 4-3 to get game one of the playoffs.
Saturday's game quickly becomes a must win for Ron Rolston's team. Based on the fact that they were the lower seed, the Amerks know they have to win at least once in Toronto to advance. If they can't find a way to beat the Marlies on Saturday, their only shot would be to sweep the two games in Rochester and then go back to Toronto to win a game 5. That would not be an impossible task, but the job is much easier if the Amerks can get that win Saturday.
13WHAM has you covered for the Amerks in the playoffs. Jon Doss reported on game one on Thursday and he'll be back in Toronto for the post game story on Saturday.
