Connor Knapp will never forget his first game with the Amerks after signing an entry level contract with the Buffalo Sabres late last season.
"It was awesome," said the 22-year old Knapp. "Our first home game there in Rochester they come on the PA system and announced that I was from the area."
Thing is, the York native never played a minute.
"They were in a playoff push," said Knapp. "They just needed me to come in and help out and do whatever I could do to help the team and during that time it was just to support Leggio and support the team and that was a great experience."
This year, Knapp will get a chance to play a significant role with the Amerks as soon as the season begins. A good performance at developmental camp is the first step.
