Lindsay Stone was intimidated the first time she showed up to a Pittsford varsity girls swimming practice last year. As a seventh grader, she was five years younger than some of her new teammates.
Fast-forward just a year, and Stone is still one of the youngest swimmers in Section V. But the intimidation she once felt has given way to a competitive streak that has her ranked atop the areas' swim scene.
By mid-season, Stone's times have already qualified her for the sectional meet in November, and she's not far off the pace for the state meets that will follow.
