The final night of the Section V girls basketball season did not disappoint.

Gates-Chili was dominant in a 62-34 win over Penfield. It was the third meeting in the Section V finals between the two teams in the last three years. They split the previous two.

Irondequoit won its first ever girls basketball championship 54-49 over Greece Athena, hitting key threes and free throws down the stretch.

In a defense-first game, Mt. Morris got a miraculous three-pointer from Anna Brado with just seconds left to force overtime, where they eventually topped Whitesville 30-28 to take the Class D1 title.

And Notre Dame of Batavia, the four seed in class D1, completed its title run, 56-41 over Romulus.
