State College, Pa. – About 2,500 fans rallied as Penn State’s football team returned to campus for preseason practice Tuesday.
The school is reeling from NCAA sanctions following the Jerry Sandusky sex abuse scandal. The team is barred from postseason play for four years and players have been allowed to transfer immediately if they choose.
Penn State opens its season Sept. 1 against Ohio.
