Another local hockey player has made the move to professional hockey. Spencerport native, Shane Prince joined the likes of Brian Gionta and Ryan Callahan as he signed an entry level contract with the Ottawa Senators.
The 19 year old has played the last five seasons in the Ontario Hockey League, the last three as a member of the Ottawa 67's. In those three seasons Prince scored 75 goals and 116 assists for 191 points, including 90 points this season to place him fourth in the OHL scoring race. Prince would also win the Brian Kilrea award for his community involvement this past season.
Prince's contract is for three years and will give him a chance to make the Senator's NHL roster or start off the year in the AHL playing for Binghamton.
