The only knock on the LPGA Championship being in Rochester was the difficulty of the course. With two runaway winners in two years, the thought was Locust Hill might be too easy.
There was nothing easy about the course in 2012, and with big names bunched up at the top of the leaderboard, it figured to be an exciting final round of golf.
It was certainly exciting, but the winner wasn't a name anyone expected to see.
Shanshan Feng, a 22 year old still looking for her first win on the LPGA tour, shot a 5-under 67 en route to a two shot win at the 2012 Wegmans LPGA Championship.
Feng finished 6-under for the tournament, two shots ahead of the field. Mika Miyazato, Eun-Hee Ji, and Stacy Lewis finished in a four way tie for second at -4.
