Syracuse University has agreed to terms with the Big East that will allow the Orange to leave the conference earlier than expected. When Syracuse made the initial announcement last year that it planned to join the Atlantic Coast Conference, the move came with a 27-month exit period. Now, the Big East has agreed to cut that period short, allowing S.U. to leave effective July 1, 2013, ensuring the Orange will play football as a part of the ACC in 2013. The one caveat is the $7.5 million fee the university had to fork up.
