Sources tell 13WHAM Sports that Wegmans is proceeding with plans to have the LPGA Championship return in June of 2013, despite the fact that no official deal has been reached with the tour. Negotiations have been going on since the tournament finished this past June, an event that ended the current agreement between Wegmans and the LPGA tour. Wegmans has been contacting sponsors and volunteers in an effort to have plans in place for the event when the deal is completed.
The LPGA tour has been at Locust Hill for the last 35 years and counting and has been a major tournament since 2010. If the deal is signed, the tournament would be a major once again and would take place at Locust Hill from June 3rd to June 9th 2013.
