Ryan Fitzpatrick is not going to stand in front of his teammates in the locker room Sunday and give a rah rah speech like Drew Brees. Mario Williams isn't about to become Ray Lewis and dance out of the tunnel to fire up the fellas. It's not in the personality of either of these critical players to become something they are not. But what is needed from these two is to lead by example and in the process show why they are getting the big bucks from Ralph Wilson.
Fitz had a bad day on Sunday and he's in danger of making that type of game the norm. He's show the tendency to start pressing, making decisions and throws that hurt the offense and take his team out of the game. You can win games (but not Super Bowls) with average to good quarterback play. You can not win games with poor quarterback play. Fitzpatrick can certainly be average to good and play to his strengths. Chan Gailey could help his quarterback by going with a run heavy game plan against the Chiefs
Mario Williams got off to a bad start both during and after the game against the Jets. The Bills did not give him a mega deal to have him spend the afternoon putting up stats like Aaron Maybin. Williams made it worse by spending time after the game complaining about the officiating. No one wants to hear those complaints, even if they are justified, after your team got it's butt kicked all day. Mario can say more by blowing by Eric Winston and sacking Matt Cassel than he can with a microphone in front of him
Prediction:
I am only picking Buffalo because they are at home. The Bills gave the trifecta of a bad effort at the Jets (offense, defense and special teams) It will improve Sunday....I think
