I want to take a minute to say, “thank you.” As I sit here waiting to anchor my last show at Channel 13, they seem to be the most fitting words I can think of to say what I’d like to say. On Wednesday I’ll be leaving 13WHAM for a position with Brighton Securities as a financial advisor. I am excited for this new challenge and opportunity, and excited to be moving to another company that has such strong roots in Rochester – something I’ve learned to love about working at Channel 13 over the past four years.
Thank you to my friends and co-workers at 13WHAM. It has been a wonderful experience to work with such wonderful people, many of whom I grew up watching at my parents home in Batavia. I’m honored to call so many of the incredibly talented people that work at 13WHAM friends, and glad that I’ve been able to learn from them. There is a reason that WHAM is Rochester’s most-watched news team – it’s the people.
Thank you to those of you who have ever stopped me to say hello and talk about the Bills, or should I say, commiserate about the Bills? It has meant so much that you’d stop to share an opinion or ask mine, and it’s made many of the nights driving back from Ralph Wilson Stadium or the Carrier Dome mean so much more.
Thank you to my family - Mom, Dad, Ethan, and my fiancee Elizabeth - for your support and encouragement over the years. It has meant more to me than can ever be described in words. You are the best support system a guy could ask for - and I love you.
Thank you, again. Thank you for the kind words, and that not-so-kind words. For the e-mails, tweets, and phone calls. Thank you for being a part of my dream come true as a sports broadcaster – it has been an honor to be a part of such a wonderful news team and family at Channel 13.
Thank you!
