Morneau Will Rehab With Red Wings

Minnesota Twins injured star first baseman Justin Morneau will play for the Red Wings beginning on Friday night in Norfolk as he heads down to triple A for an injury rehab assignment. Morneau is hitting .225 with 4 HRs and 21 RBI in 55 games in 2011 but he has not played for Minnesota since the early part of June. The former American League MVP has been out of the lineup due to various injuries including a herniated disc in his neck that required surgery and a wrist injury

Morneau last played for the Red Wings in the 2004 season. In his two seasons in Rochester, The Canadian born Morneau dominated at Triple A, hitting 38 homeruns in only 143 games. The Red Wings return from their current road trip on Friday August 12th
