On his way back to the major league Yankees, Andy Pettitte will stop by Frontier Field to pitch on Sunday. Pettitte will pitch for the Triple A Empire Yankees who are using Frontier as their home field for a series of games this season. Sunday was actually scheduled to be a Rochester Red Wings home game and the Empire Yankees were supposed to play in Batavia. But because of the demand for tickets to see Pettitte pitch, the Yankees game has been moved to Frontier Field and the Red Wings game has been switched to Saturday as part of a doubleheader starting at 5:05

Pettitte, one of the top pitchers in Yankees history, is coming out of retiement. He has recently made a pair of starts in double A Trenton and team General Manager Brian Cashman said he';ll make at least one and maybe as many as three Triple A starts before he goes back to the Yankees.

Fans that have already purchased tickets for the scheduled Red Wings game with Buffalo on Sunday will be able to use those tickets for the Yankees/Pawtucket games. Fans who had tickets in Batavia will be able to exchange those tickets for seats at Frontier Field. The remainder of the tickets will go on sale Friday morning at 9 am. They are available at the Red Wings box office. For more information you can go to redwingsbaseball.com
