ROCHESTER, NY – Former Yankee Tommy John will appear at Frontier Field Sunday, August 19 to sign autographs at the Red Wings-Yankees game. John, a four-time All-Star and 288-game winner during his 26-year major league career, will sign autographs in the Red Wings Hall of Fame from 5:00-5:50 p.m. and again from 6:10-7:00 p.m. Gametime is 6:05 p.m.
John pitched for eight seasons in a Yankees uniform from 1979-82 and 1986-89, going 91-60 with a 3.59 ERA in 214 games (203 starts). Two of his All-Star seasons came with the Yankees in 1979 and 1980, when he won 21 and 22 games, respectively. The lefthander pitched in three World Series with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1978 and 1979 and with the Yankees in 1981.
