It took just over a minute for the Sabres to start the scoring and it continued late into the Florida evening on Wednesday as Bufflao dominated the Panthers 5-2 on the road.

Mike Grier opened the scoring with his second goal of the season just 1:11 into the contest.  Less than a minute later former Rochester American Jason Pominville ripped home a slap shot for a 2-0 Buffalo lead.  Matt Ellis completed the furious first five minutes of the game with a goal 4:37 into the first period for a 3-0 Sabres advantage.  Mammoth defenseman Tyler Myers notched his second goal of the season with a slap shot from the blue line late in the first as well.

Thomas Vanek closed out the Buffalo scoring with his 4th of the season with just under 5:00 to play in the opening period.  Vanek was seeing his first action in over a week since suffering an "upper-body" injury against the Detroit Red Wings.

Ryan Miller kept things in order in the Buffalo net, saving 41 of the 43 shots that he saw.
