TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Tyler Myers scored in the sixth round of the shootout after Drew Stafford tied it late in the third period and the Buffalo Sabres beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 3-2 on Saturday night.

Myers beat Lightning goalie Mike Smith after making several stickhandling moves. Stafford got the Sabres even at 2 with 16.1 seconds remaining in regulation with goalie Ryan Miller on the bench for an extra skater.

Vincent Lecavalier stopped a personal 15-game goal-scoring drought and Steven Stamkos scored early in the third period for Tampa Bay.

Mike Grier also scored for the Sabres.
