Sabres forward Thomas Vanek might not be in as bad a shape as the team thought. Head Coach Lindy Ruff said on Wednesday that Vanek is feeling a lot better and is doing "remarkably well". After the Sabres 6-2 win over Detroit on Tuesday, Ruff had said he thought Vanek would be sidelined for "weeks" with what was called an upper body injury. Now it appears he could be back in the lineup within "days".
The Sabres win over Detroit kept them as one of only two teams in the NHL that have not yet lost a game in regulation. Next up for the Sabres is a game against the New York islanders on Friday night in Buffalo
