BUFFALO, N.Y. - Derek Whitmore is coming home. The Greece native signed a one-year deal with the Sabres on Thursday and is expected to play for the Amerks this coming year.
Whitmore, who is entering his fourth year of professional hockey scored 47 points while playing in all 80 games for the Portland Pirates last season.
